Carmyn's one year pictures

Two more weeks and my baby girl will be ONE! My good friend Emily took Carmyns one year pictures for me and she did Awesome! Seriously- Carmyn was not cooperative at all! She really just wanted to play with Emily's two kids and didn't want to hold still for a photo. I was amazed at how many good pictures she got of my unwilling child. Check out her photography blog to see more pics... emilyharknessphotography.blogspot.com

Thanks Em

P.S. My favorite part of the day was when Emily's little boy called Carmyn's name as Carmel- haha

Updates

Well the move went pretty smoothly. It took us 24 hours to drive the moving truck there at steady rate of 60 mph! We took a 4 hour break to sleep, so really it was about a 20 hr drive. When we got there we actually had some friends that we met through the waterski community come and help us unpack everything. Chad and I were completely worn out by the end of it, but there were no disasters so we were pretty happy. I don't have any pictures of Missouri yet because there was a tornado warning the weekend we got there- then that turned into rain, then ice storms, and snow....... so continue to stay tunned for those beautiful picutures of Missouri :)

Our new 24 foot home

We did it- we packed our whole house into this 24 foot moving truck! It took us two days to pack it up and now we are off to Kansas City. Chad and I are driving this fine ride out there all day Friday and hopefully arriving Saturday morning ( just one day later than planned- not to bad). The Grandma's are taking turns watching Carmyn for the weekend because I was pretty sure she wasn't going to dig on 20 hrs in her carseat. Then I am going to fly back to Utah on Tuesday to get her. I'm actually going to be staying for another two weeks when I fly back. Chad and I found a nice apartment that we are renting out there for three months until we get our bearings about us ( and until we our house in Utah sells ). We have so much stuff that half of it is going in the apartment and the other half is going in a storage unit. Yes, we are going to utilize the help of the ward members when we get there. There is no way we can unload this whole moving truck by ourselves ( I'm sure they're going to love us when we pull up in this baby!) So there ya have it- our next adventure begins..... I'm excited, sad, scared to death, but confident that we are doing the right thing. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of our wonderful friends and family. You have been such a great support to us. I know we wouldn't be where we are today without your love and influence. We will miss everyone so much, but we will hold our great memories dear to our hearts.
"If there were ever a time to dare, to make a difference, to embark on something worth doing, it is now. Not for any grand cause, necessarily, but for something that tugs at your heart, something that's your aspiration, something that's your dream. You owe it to yourself to make your days here count. Have fun. Dig deep. Stretch. Dream big."
Stay tunned for pictures of the beautiful rolling hills of Missouri....

A Leaving Celebration!

Our great friends had a little leaving party for us last weekend - we had such a great time! The Davis's made some amazing food, and we chatted and played games until the weee hours of the morning. What a great goodbye- Thanks guys!

new sign and the giggles

Carmyn learned a new sign. The sign for dog is patting your leg like you are calling the dog- so in this video she keeps hearing Hooch barking in the garage and that's why she is doing the sign. I love this video because of her laugh- I just can't help but laugh right along with her.

Happy Late Birthday Chad!

Unfortunately I don't have a picture of Chad on his B-day (March 4th) because he was in KC- so I just found this one and thought I'd post it as a tribute to how much I love my Man! I know that this years b-day (28 yrs) was probably not the best celebration- no cake, no gifts, no party :( - but I do know that this past year has brought Chad so many great accomplishments that he definitely should be recognized for:
1. The birth of our beautiful Daughter ( who looks and acts just like Chad )
2. 1st place in the State waterski tournament
3. Graduating with his Tech. Sales degree from WSU (while working 40+ hr weeks)
4. Landing a great Job with Sonic Innovations
5. Continuing his crazy schedule of waking up at the crack of dawn to excercise before he starts his day (while I lay unconsious for a couple more hours)
6. Decided that he wanted to learn to play the guitar and has practiced consistantly ever since he bought it. He went strait from Mary had a little lamb to Metallica! That's serious improvment!
7. Taking on this knew challenge of moving to Missouri and doing a complete career change with full force
8. Last and best of all- continuing to keep me laughing at all of his new adventures. I just hold on tight and enjoy the ride!

Anyone who knows Chad, knows about his incredible zest for life! He has such an addicting enthusiasm for everything he does. Once he is determined to do something, he will succeed and be the BEST! Failure is not in his genetic makeup. All of this, accompanied with a great positive attitude, and the constant encouragement that he gives to everyone around him is the reason why I love him! Happy late Birthday Chad Jay Horne! 28 will be Great Great Great!!!
