A side note. We went to Jack Stack with uncle Gary and aunt Jana Moore -its amazing BBQ! Its only here in KC so come visit and try it for your self!

OH NO.... anything but BARNEY!

I never allowed Barney in my house! Then my mom clued me in that Carmyn really likes Barney and she will actually watch it- so I broke down and got a DVD. For a week strait she has been handing me the remote control and pointing at the TV. This is the child that would never sit still long enough to watch anything on TV. So even though I can't really stand you Barney- you're the best babysitter I've got right now- So I guess you can stay for awhile.

Dang- That girls got moves!

She got those from her dad :)

A day at the ZOO- KC style

Discount Tuesday's at the K.C. ZOO. Start early- It gets miserably hot!

Reminder- Don't give your toddler fishy crackers right before you get the the "feed the lambs" section of the zoo.

Even though we were dripping sweat off our chins by the time we were finished- I had a great time taking the girls for their first Zoo experience. What I learned- going to a park is probably just as good with one year olds, since they were more interested in all the other kids than they were in the animals :)

4th of July weekend

Friday night started out with an impressive thunder storm
(poor picture but look-I caught a lightning bolt!)
We spent Saturday on the boat with some friends
My friends Kelsi's cute boys- this was their first time waterskiing.
The boys were terrified! Cried the whole time- but when it was over they decided it was fun and wanted to go again :)
Rick tried his own stunts with the paddle boatThen we had a team tournament-
Proud to say Chad and I won with cold water and white caps from the wind........brrrr
Carmyn pooped out an hour before the firework show in town so we just watched from a distance and sat around the campfire. A fun and memorable 4th of July! KC knows how to do fireworks! I heard booms and whistles the whole weekend. I guess it's so wet here they aren't worried about catching the town on fire like they were in Utah.

Sowing thy Seed

We never planted a garden this year because we thought we would be moving soon- but we've had no luck finding a house that we want, so we decided to stay in the apartment for a little while longer. (We actually moved to another apartment that is bigger and closer to the ground---much better!) So yesterday we planted our mini garden on the balcony. It's just some peppers and tomatos - but I'm excited already for some fresh homemade salsa and tomato sandwiches!

This is the view from our apartment balcony- I think it's pretty nice for apartment living! Look closely and you can see geese ..... Warning..... these birds are not friendly! They will chase you!.......... personal experience.

Mini trip to Columbia

Columbia Missouri that is. We have a good friend with a gorgeous house on a ski lake that lives in Columbia, and he is always inviting us to come stay at his house and try out his ski lake. Since Chad had to make a trip down there for work, we decided to take him up on his offer. It was just a quick overnight trip, but we had a great time. Rufus- this old dog has got the life!

a little breakfast on the dock

Our friends cute house- he's got some serious mowing to do!

Quick trips are my favorite! Not a lot of packing........ and better than staying home :)
